Qayd XBRL Filing for Kuwait Businesses

Qayd is Kuwait's Ministry of Commerce and Industry digital financial filing system, built on XBRL (eXtensible Business Reporting Language) and the IFRS Accounting Taxonomy. Every legal entity registered in Kuwait will need to file through Qayd — voluntary throughout 2026, mandatory from January 1, 2027.

The xbrl_kuwait_qayd module is in active development for Odoo 19 Enterprise — Phase 1 (IFRS taxonomy mapping, XBRL generation, Arelle validation) is being built now, with the Kuwait-specific Qayd extension following once the Ministry publishes its final taxonomy spec, expected Q3–Q4 2026. What is available today is the readiness work: IFRS-aligned chart of accounts, data structuring, and filing-readiness assessment — the foundation every Qayd filing depends on regardless of which tool eventually generates it.

Because the IFRS restructuring work — chart of accounts, master data, account categorization — takes weeks when done deliberately and months when done under year-end deadline pressure. Businesses that fix their data structure in 2026 will find the actual Qayd filing step close to mechanical. Businesses that wait will be rebuilding their books and racing a mandatory deadline at the same time.

Not out of the box — no Odoo module currently ships with a Kuwait Qayd taxonomy extension, which is exactly the gap CentrixPlus is building xbrl_kuwait_qayd to close. Odoo's IFRS-compliant accounting engine and Enterprise account.report reporting layer are strong foundations; the Qayd-specific tagging and generation layer is the missing piece.

It is the standardized vocabulary — around 3,500 concepts in full — that XBRL filings use to tag every number so filing systems and auditors can read them consistently. Qayd validates against this taxonomy. Phase 1 of our module covers the ~500 most commonly used concepts spanning Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow, which covers the large majority of standard Kuwait commercial entities.

Yes. The IFRS chart-of-accounts and data-structure readiness work is platform-independent — it is the right foundation regardless of what accounting system generates the eventual filing. If you later move to Odoo, that readiness work carries over directly into our module once it ships.
